So you’re from NY and you feel a little homesick? How about a good old-fashioned bagel, just like in NYC. But you’ll have to get yourself up to Aix Les Milles, in the "Silicon Valley" of Aix-en-Provence, where hungry executives are already hooked up. Bagel rules!
And if you want to get there, be sure it is before 2.30 pm, because Sophie and Rodolphe, the owners of "Le Comptoir du Bagel" are only opened for lunch time. Nobody would show up at night in this neighborhood fully dedicated to office facilities and company headquarters.
But if you manage to be there during business hours, you’ll have the best bagel around. The holed bread comes straight outta NYC, by plane, every day (frozen though). So it it’s the same basic taste as the original. Mac donald’s manage to serve the same sandwiches worlwide, so why wouldn’t it be possible for bagels, huh?
